Man Mound State Park

Home to the only surviving human‑shaped effigy mound in North America with National Historic Landmark status. Created by Indigenous peoples during the Late Woodland period (c. 750–1200 CE). Preserved through a 1907 purchase led by the Sauk County Historical Society and partners; designated an NHL in 2016.
