đź‘€ Welcome!

Welcome to the Capitol Quest on Beacon! You’re about to embark on a history hunt through the Wisconsin State Capitol. You’ll answer trivia, snap pics, and create Beacons to leave your mark on the 🗺️ Map (and the leaderboard đź‘€). Think of yourself as a historical detective, earning energy by completing challenges and using that energy to add new stories to the game.

How This Works:

⚡Energy powers everything you do. You start with 3 Energy and earn more by completing challenges, answering trivia, and exploring the game map.

📍Beacons are the markers you create—each one highlights a piece of history on our shared map. Creating beacons costs Energy.

XP (Experience Points) track your growth as a historical explorer. The more you discover, the more XP you earn, and the higher you’ll climb on the leaderboard.

FAQ

How to Play

You’ll work in teams to explore the Capitol and nearby landmarks, complete challenges, and see how your team stacks up on the leaderboard.

You’ll see Spaces (real locations like the Capitol and museums) and Beacons (posts created by you and your classmates about what’s interesting out here). You’re part of making this map smarter.

Spaces are permanent places like buildings, parks and institutions.

Beacons are player-created—snapshots of what’s worth noticing, sharing, or remembering. Beacons can be placed on the map where you find them.

Earn XP by completing trivia, creating Beacons, and interacting with others. Bonus points will be awarded for particularly great Beacons and comments.

Pro tip: Fill out every part of a Beacon form. Partial Beacons are fine. Full Beacons? Even better!

Why Comment?

Because this isn’t just a scavenger hunt—it’s a conversation. Add a good open-ended question for others to respond to. Share extra facts or suggest a trivia question that could be added to the Beacon (don’t forget to link your source!). Keep the story going!

Simple! Participate. The better your contributions, the higher your score.
