FAQ
How to Play
You’ll work in teams to explore the Capitol and nearby landmarks, complete challenges, and see how your team stacks up on the leaderboard.
What’s on the map?
You’ll see Spaces (real locations like the Capitol and museums) and Beacons (posts created by you and your classmates about what’s interesting out here). You’re part of making this map smarter.
What’s the difference between a Space and a Beacon?
Spaces are permanent places like buildings, parks and institutions.
Beacons are player-created—snapshots of what’s worth noticing, sharing, or remembering. Beacons can be placed on the map where you find them.
Points? What are XP and how do they work?
Earn XP by completing trivia, creating Beacons, and interacting with others. Bonus points will be awarded for particularly great Beacons and comments.
Pro tip: Fill out every part of a Beacon form. Partial Beacons are fine. Full Beacons? Even better!
Why Comment?
Why Comment?
Because this isn’t just a scavenger hunt—it’s a conversation. Add a good open-ended question for others to respond to. Share extra facts or suggest a trivia question that could be added to the Beacon (don’t forget to link your source!). Keep the story going!
